There is so much to love about Alexander O’Neal, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. While no new Alexander O’Neal album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1990 tour in Europe. On Hearsay album, Alexander O’Neal have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
(What Can I Say) To Make You Love Me is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Intro is the first taste of the new album. Hearsay is the album’s biggest hit, I think. I like to sing along with Intro, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. The Lovers is the most memorable and perfect. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Intro. Fake is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. A great put together song. I was truly moved when I heard Never Knew Love Like This. One listen to the sheer beauty of Interlude was all I needed. Strong, powerful vocals of Alexander O’Neal in Sunshine are very impressive. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Crying Overtime because the melody in the chorus is so good. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. A unique and uplifting song.
