It’s natural for Beastie Boys to take a stab at ‘3-Minute Rule’ considering her long-professed love for Orkrist. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Beastie Boys energies, virtually a rebirth. Since completing 1989’s ‘3-Minute Rule’, Beastie Boys fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Beastie Boys ever.
I like to sing along with 5-Piece Chicken Dinner, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Paul’s Boutique. B-Boy Bouillabaisse is the song that really did it for me. Charming song, great melody. Egg Man is the marvelous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. The first time I listened to Hey Ladies I was struck by its marvelous sound. High Plains Drifter - Check out that bassline! Johnny Ryall - I just love it. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. Shadrach make listening to Beastie Boys like being in some sort of time warp. Some of the arrangements found on Paul’s Boutique are surprisingly edgy. The Sounds of Science is so unique, as each one of the songs is. To All the Girls the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion.
