Mila Sparrow has compared writing for Beausoleil’s new album to that on ‘Bayou Boogie’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. This is the first studio album from Beausoleil since bad diagnosis in 1990. When you buy a Beausoleil album, you know exactly what you’re getting! If you love Beausoleil as much as I do, then Beausoleil Bayou Boogie is the CD for you!
Fais Pas Ca is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. It’s You I Love - To me, this is the best song on the Bayou Boogie. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Madame Bozo is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. This track is full of harmonies and gets Bayou Boogie off to a relaxing start. Maman Rosin Boudreaux gives taste of what makes Beausoleil special as a musician. Album opener Chez Seychelles is a bright, upbeat ditty. Beausoleil rocks harder than ever with Jongle A Moi. The Flame Will Never Die has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. La Valse Du Malchanceux is probably the most interesting track on Bayou Boogie. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Beausoleil Boogie because the melody in the chorus is so good.
