I Need a Haircut isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Biz Markie. Self-described as Rap: Hip-Hop with lots of words, Biz Markie comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like I Need a Haircut.
Kung Fu is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Take It from the Top is just simply stunning. In Alone Again the music gets its power. On and On without a doubt is the standout song of I Need a Haircut. I believe Road Block is one of the most amazing, heartfelt songs ever written. Let Go My Eggo is another favourite of mine. What Comes Around Goes Around marked the continuation of Biz Markie in style evolution. Romeo and Juliet makes a person feel cool. T.S.R. (Toilet Stool Rap) is another strong production from Biz Markie. Still going through I Need a Haircut and coming to appreciate Busy Doing Nuthin’ more and more with every listen. I Told You is probably the highlight of the album. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing.
