Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Brand Nubian on ‘Who Can Get Busy Like This Man…’. It has been fifteen years Brand Nubian’ last studio CD, “One for All” which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Brand Nubian had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Unappreciated gift to Rap: Hip-Hop
Wake Up (Stimulated Dummies Mix) defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. After about the third Feels So Good listen through, I began to believe this song is Brand Nubian’s essence. Some call All For One from One for All as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. To The Right is Brand Nubian’s best work in years. Ragtime is the albums biggest surprise. Try To Do Me is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. A unique and uplifting song. Dedication is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Wake Up (Reprise In The Sunshine) one is one of the better boring ones. Brand Nubian sets the tone for the entire album. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Concerto in X Minor - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Step To The Rear is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Dance To My Ministry is a good listen every once in a while. Brand Nubian sings Grand Puba, Positive And L.G. in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved.
