When you buy a Camel album, you know exactly what you’re getting! After seeing Never Let Go, I had to have a good Camel cd. Since Camel last CD (Echoes - The Anthology ‘73-’77 (CD1)) on Savoy Records back in 1992, I have felt a massive void in my life. This album is awesome.
One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Freefall because the melody in the chorus is so good. Lady Fantasy is a marvelous, simple song by Camel at the top of his game. Song Rhayader is actually a funny song. Rhayader Goes To Town is a medium tempo tune. Song Within A Song defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Lunar Sea to me is the best you can get from Camel. Camel sings his heart out in Unevensong. I now have Tell Me as one of my personal favorites. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Camel. Album opener Skylines is a bright, upbeat ditty. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song.
