After debuting at No. 1 last week, Carolyn Hillyer’s album House Of The Weavers falls to No. 2 with 943,000, a sales slide of 88%. I am not a real New Age music type of person, but i have to admit ‘House Of The Weavers’ really is amazing. Lead single “Tread Gently” and “Angels Of The Rising Dawn” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. One of Carolyn Hillyer’s best albums yet.
Strong, powerful vocals of Carolyn Hillyer in Angels Of The Rising Dawn are very impressive. I can’t stop humming along Egypt Dust. Sacred Marriage is one of my favorite songs by Carolyn Hillyer. After few listenings I started to like Secret Stream more and more. Rise Of The Corn is simply exquisite. Jaguar rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. In A Sister’s Passion you won’t find any flashy solos. Magdalene hits the heart. A unique and uplifting song. First time I heard Turquoise Lady was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing. This song is dynamic and dramatic.
