six years ago, Cud briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Easy”. There is so much to love about Cud, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This is one of the best Cd’s Cud has dropped to date. Cud is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Easy is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. I have all of Cud’s tracks and Sometimes Rightly, Sometimes Wrongly is probably the most his introspective effort. In Spanish Love Song the music gets its power. In Magic Alex full palet of sound is used by Cud to accentuate the presentation. In Beyond Hair you won’t find any flashy solos. When listening to Pink Flamingo, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Possession is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Through the Roof is a bit of a show-tune. I find myself hearing bits of Soul Food here and there throughout my waking hours. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Once Again, which shows, blatantly, how much Cud has evolved as a singer. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly.
