Since completing 1991’s ‘Reprise’, David Benoit fulfilled their contract with SixSteps records and where under no obligation to release another album. Shadows carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. While no new David Benoit album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1991 tour in Europe. Smart music for smart people.
Castles was the first single release from the album Shadows. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. I was truly moved when I heard Still Standing. This track is full of harmonies and gets Shadows off to a relaxing start. Already There is probably the highlight of the album. Shadows is simply excellent. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Strong, powerful vocals of David Benoit in Have You Forgotten (Interlude) are very impressive. Overture sets the tone for the entire album. After few listenings I started to like Over The Edge more and more.
