It’s natural for Don Dorsey to take a stab at ‘Italian Concerto, I Allegro, Bwv 971′ considering her long-professed love for U2. ‘Bach Busters’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Bach Busters isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Unappreciated gift to Celtic
Italian Concerto, Ii Andante, Bwv 971 is a great opener for Bach Busters. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Two-Part Inventions No 1 In C Major, Bwv 772 is a exquisite, simple song by Don Dorsey at the top of his game. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Voice of Don Dorsey in Two-Part Inventions No 8 In F Major, Bwv 779 is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Three-Part Inventions No 8 In F Major, Bwv 794 has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Don Dorsey sings Two-Part Inventions No 10 In G Major, Bwv 781 in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. I like the idea behind Three-Part Inventions No 10 In G Major, Bwv 796. Two-Part Inventions No 12 In A Major, Bwv 783 is perfect. In Three-Part Inventions No 12 In A Major, Bwv 798 it becomes nowhere more obvious that Don Dorsey has yet to define own style. Voice and instruments in Two-Part Inventions No 15 In B Minor, Bwv 786 complement each other. After few listenings I started to like Three-Part Inventions No 15 In A Major, Bwv 801 more and more. Diverse Kanons, Bwv 1087 make listening to Don Dorsey like being in some sort of time warp. I love the melodic melody of Toccata In D Minor, Bwv 565 and to this day it makes me feel good. Fugue In D Minor, Bwv 565 is simply cool. Jesu, Joy Of Man’s Desiring From Contate 147 which is my favorite is a truly Don Dorsey sounding song.
