This album has some very good songs like Planet Rock (Africa Bambaataa and The Soul Sonic Force) and Release Yourself (Aleem). There is so much to love about Electronic - Various Artists, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. On the France charts, superstar Electronic - Various Artists’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. This album is in perfect progression from Electronic - Various Artists!
Release Yourself (Aleem) is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Simple and heartfelt closing track Clear (Cybotron) closes Technofunk - Electric Funk Pt.1 on a high note. Crazy Cuts (Grandmixer D.ST.) - Check out that bassline! After about the third Megamix II Why Is It Fresh (Grandmixer D.ST.) listen through, I began to believe this song is Electronic - Various Artists’s essence. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Rock it (Herbie Hancock) is the albums biggest surprise. Music in Skanless Electric Funk Mega Mix (Juice ‘The Electric Wire’) is excellent as in all tracks of Technofunk - Electric Funk Pt.1. I find myself hearing bits of Jam On Revenge (The Wikki-Wikki Song; Newcleus) here and there throughout my waking hours. Play at Your own Risk (Planet Patrol) is such a astounding and optimistic song that things can get just better. Mirda Rock (Technofunk) is really the reason why I recommend buying Technofunk - Electric Funk Pt.1. After you’ve listened to Electric Kingdom (Twilight 22), most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate.
