Tales Of Mullumbimby carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. When you buy a Frank Fischer album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Since completing 1991’s ‘Tales Of Mullumbimby’, Frank Fischer fulfilled their contract with Columbia Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Frank Fischer “Tales Of Mullumbimby” is an amazing album.
Album opener Don’t Push The River is a bright, upbeat ditty. Lyrics of Outback Railroad are precise and evocative. New Mexican Waltz is probably one of Frank Fischer’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Byron Bay is the album’s biggest hit, I think. From the moment you listen to See The Malu Fly you’re hooked. High Mesa is one of the more up-tempo songs on Tales Of Mullumbimby. The opening track Under Western Eyes is very much like you would expect from other albums. Rolling Hills is probably the highlight of the album. Cafe Del Mar stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty.
