After seeing Private Line, I had to have a good Gerald Levert cd. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Gerald Levert energies, virtually a rebirth. On Private Line album, Gerald Levert have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Such great and happy songs.
School Me - A nice song. Opening track Baby Hold On To Me shows the best of Gerald Levert. Can You Handle It as a highlight of Private Line contains a ton of excellent melodies. Shootin’ The Breeze is another favourite of mine. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Hurting For You - Okay, I just talked about depth. Just Because I’m Wrong is worth the money. Gerald Levert breathes new life into the music in Hugs and Kisses. You Oughta Be With Me is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. What sets Private Line (Radio Club Remix) apart is Gerald Levert’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres.
