Since completing 1992’s ‘The Lonely Shepherd’, Gheorghe Zamfir fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. There is no doubt that Gheorghe Zamfir has talent. twelve years ago, Gheorghe Zamfir briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Fantasy (Doina: Sus Pe Culmea”. Such great and happy songs.
I like Fantasy (Doina: Sus Pe Culmea because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Ete d’Amour is another favourite of mine. Gheorghe Zamfir has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Cockey’s Song - Gheorghe Zamfir first major hit. I like the agression and power of Summer of ‘42. Memory can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Gheorghe Zamfir is all about. Deguello - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. One listen to the sheer beauty of Unchained Melody was all I needed. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Ladie’s Waltz is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Dont’t Cry for Me Argentina is a good listen every once in a while.
