It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Gilbert O’Sullivan energies, virtually a rebirth. This is one of the best Cd’s Gilbert O’Sullivan has dropped to date. Rare Tracks isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. This is my first Gilbert O’Sullivan Album and i must say i am blown away.
Our Own Baby is a striking and quite long song. I have all of Gilbert O’Sullivan’s tracks and What’s In A Kiss is probably the most his introspective effort. As Long As I Can is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Can’t Get Enough Of You is a great opener for Rare Tracks. There is amazing mix of music in Too Long. I’ll Never Let You Go is probably the most interesting track on Rare Tracks. What You See Is What You Get (2:30) a good melody. Just As You Are is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Can’t Get You Out Of My Mind - arguably the best track on Rare Tracks album. Forever Wondering can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Gilbert O’Sullivan is all about. Song The Niceness Of It All is actually a funny song. That’s A Fact is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. This track is just a stunning masterpiece.
