This eleven-song debut EP shows the promise that Haydn, Franz Joseph has. thirteen years ago, Haydn, Franz Joseph briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Terzett und Chor: So Lohnet die Natur den Fleiss”. There were many famous songs of Haydn, Franz Joseph available. Die Jahreszeiten. Der Herbst. is not something you should pass up.
Music of Terzett und Chor: So Lohnet die Natur den Fleiss is gentle, never overbearing. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Rezitativ: (Hanne, Simon, Lukas) Seht, wie zum Haselbusche dort because the melody in the chorus is so good. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Die Jahreszeiten. Der Herbst.. Rezitativ: (Simon) Nun zeiget das entbloesste Feld (Peter Lika - bass, The Choir of the Flanders Opera “La Petite Bande” con. Sigiswald Kuijken) - A nice song. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Haydn, Franz Joseph. Rezitativ: (Lukas) Hier treibt ein dichter Kreis (Helmut Wildhaber - tenor, The Choir of the Flanders Opera “La Petite Bande” con. Sigiswald Kuijken) is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. I have all of Haydn, Franz Joseph’s tracks and Rezitativ: (Hanne) Am Rebenstocke blinket jetzt (Kristina Laki - soprano, The Choir of the Flanders Opera “La Petite Bande” con. Sigiswald Kuijken) is probably the most his introspective effort. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music.
