On the Turkey charts, superstar Haydn, Franz Joseph’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Haydn, Franz Joseph’s debut, ‘Die sieben Letzten Worte unseres Erloesers am Kreuze, (Hob. XX/2)’, does not fit easily into one genre. twelve years ago, Haydn, Franz Joseph briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “No.1 “Vater, vergib ihnen”". This album is a scorcher!
No.1 “Vater, vergib ihnen” - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. No.2 “Fuerwahr, ich sag’ es dir” - This is a very lively song. The opening track No.3 “Frau, hier siehe deinen Sohn” is very much like you would expect from other albums. No.4 “Mein Gott, mein Gott” is astounding. After about the third Introduzione (Concentus musicus Wien con. Nikolaus Harnoncourt) listen through, I began to believe this song is Haydn, Franz Joseph’s essence. No.5 “Jesus rufet” is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. No.6 “Es ist vollbracht” is nothing but pure genius. No.7 “Vater, in deine Haende” - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Terremoto “Er ist nicht mehr” is a medium tempo tune.
