Since completing 1986’s ‘American Boy’, Jaco Pastorius fulfilled their contract with Capitol Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This nine-song debut EP shows the promise that Jaco Pastorius has. When you buy a Jaco Pastorius album, you know exactly what you’re getting! This is my first Jaco Pastorius Album and i must say i am blown away.
Donna Lee is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Stuttgart Aria I because the melody in the chorus is so good. Voice of Jaco Pastorius in Jaco Reggae is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. The Chicken actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Jaco Pastorius’s face. Jaco Pastorius breathes new life into the music in Teresa. Stuttgart Aria II is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. The Days Of Wine and Roses is probably one of Jaco Pastorius’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to.
