This is one of the best Cd’s James Brown has dropped to date. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of James Brown on ‘You Are My Everything’. Lead single “You Are My Everything” and “It’s Time to Love (Put a Little Love in Your Heart)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This album is in perfect progression from James Brown!
It’s Time to Love (Put a Little Love in Your Heart) on Love Over-Due is solid and easy to listen to. The opening track Later for Dancing is very much like you would expect from other albums. Standing on Higher Ground is a good listen every once in a while. Dance, Dance, Dance to the Funk is absolutely incredible. Teardrops on Your Letter is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. James Brown sings his heart out in Show Me. Opening track (So Tired of Standing Still We Got to) Move On shows the best of James Brown.
