It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Jean-Luc Ponty energies, virtually a rebirth. Now signed to Jean-Luc Ponty’s Mute Records, the title track from second album “Storytelling” leads Jean-Luc Ponty’s back-to-school campaign. This ten-song debut EP shows the promise that Jean-Luc Ponty has. This album is awesome.
Tender Memories - I just love it. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Pastoral Harmony stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. The Story Teller has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Jean-Luc Ponty’s strong vocals come to the fore. The Amazon Forest is possibly the best song Jean-Luc Ponty has come up. After The Storm which is my favorite is a truly Jean-Luc Ponty sounding song. You have to get essence of the A Journey’s End’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Chopin Prelude No.20 (With Violin Improvisation) is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Jean-Luc Ponty released so far.
