Since completing 1989’s ‘Spoutej Me’, Jiri Malasek fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. While no new Jiri Malasek album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1989 tour in Asia. Jiri Malasek had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Romanticky Klavir Vol. 1 is not something you should pass up.
Mesicni Reka makes a person feel excellent. The sound of Lasko is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Simple and heartfelt closing track Balada Pro Adelku closes Romanticky Klavir Vol. 1 on a high note. Some of the arrangements found on Romanticky Klavir Vol. 1 are surprisingly edgy. Stin Tveho Usmevu - A catchy, upbeat tune. Prave Jsem Zacali - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Jiri Malasek. Kdyby Sis Oci Vyplakala is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Hraci Skrinka - This one is lively and fun. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is To Se Nikdo Nedovi because the melody in the chorus is so good. Krasne Promeny presents the excellent mix of instruments on Romanticky Klavir Vol. 1. In Exodus Jiri Malasek is at his best. Pojd Se Mnou Lasko Ma is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Esce Se Ja Podivam (2:45) - awsome. This song may be the most meaningful. Jak Je Krasna is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. First time I heard Valcik Na Rozloucenou was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.
