Porco Rosso carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. This is one of the best Cd’s Joe hisaishi has dropped to date. There is no doubt that Joe hisaishi has talent. One of Joe hisaishi’s best albums yet.
Mamma Aiutto is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Addio! (0:37) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Kaerazaru Hibi is pretty funky and mellow. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Seribia Maachi is a medium tempo tune. Flying Boatment is possibly the best song Joe hisaishi has come up. Doom ~ Kumo No Wana is simple, dignified and effective, Joe hisaishi refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Porco E Bella ~ Ending is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Music of Fio ~ Seventeen is gentle, never overbearing. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Friend is probably one of Joe hisaishi’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. After about the third Partnership listen through, I began to believe this song is Joe hisaishi’s essence. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Adoria No Umi E - This one is lively and fun. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Porco Rosso is Toki Jidai Wo Motomete. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. There is exquisite mix of music in Natsu No Owari Ni. I love the melodic melody of Ushinawareta Tama ~ Lost Spirit and to this day it makes me feel good. Dogfight is a good listen every once in a while. Some call Porco E Bella ~ Ending from Porco Rosso as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. The opening track Sakuranbo No Minoru Koro is very much like you would expect from other albums. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Toki Ni Wa Mukashi No Hanashi O.
