Appassionato carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. I am not a real Jazz music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Appassionato’ really is amazing. This album has some very good songs like Relaxin’ At Camarillo and Grooveyard. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
Grooveyard is a striking and quite long song. Body And Soul is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Nica’s Dream is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. In Tenderly Joe Pass is at his best. When It’s Sleepy Time Down South is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Joe Pass released so far. After about the third Red Door listen through, I began to believe this song is Joe Pass’s essence. I like Gee, Baby Ain’t I Good To You because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. In Lil’ Darlin’ it becomes nowhere more obvious that Joe Pass has yet to define own style. That’s Earl, Brother is a great opener for Appassionato. Stuffy as a highlight of Appassionato contains a ton of gorgeous melodies. You’re Driving Me Crazy one of the best in my collection.
