This is the first studio album from Joe Pass since bad diagnosis in 1989. This album has some very good songs like Summer Night and Anouman. Summer Nights carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Last Hot Album by Joe Pass
Anouman is the albums biggest surprise. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Summer Nights is Douce Ambiance. For Django gives good insight into the truths. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. I Got Rhythm (4:42) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. E-Blue Eyes is simply marvelous. All of songs on Summer Nights and have something to say letting alone Belleville. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Joe Pass. In A Sentimental Mood one of the best in my collection. In Them There Eyes it becomes nowhere more obvious that Joe Pass has yet to define own style.
