John Lee Hooker’s debut, ‘The Ultimate Collection (CD 1)’, does not fit easily into one genre. I am not a real Blues music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The Ultimate Collection (CD 1)’ really is amazing. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of John Lee Hooker on ‘Teachin’ The Blues’. The Ultimate Collection (CD 1) is not something you should pass up.
John Lee Hooker offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on The Ultimate Collection (CD 1). Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Crawlin’ King Snake is a striking and quite long song. Weeping Willow Boogie has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Hobo Blues from the beginning to the end. Blew our minds when we first heard Huckle Up Baby. I’m In The Mood is a fine track on any terms. After few listenings I started to like John L’s House Rent Boogie more and more. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Frisco Blues gets you up and jumping. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in The Ultimate Collection (CD 1). Ot Serves Me Right is the albums biggest surprise. Bottle Up and Go - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem.
