On the Holland charts, superstar John Lee Hooker’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. ‘The Word Of John Lee Hooker’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. It’s natural for John Lee Hooker to take a stab at ‘I’m In The Mood’ considering her long-professed love for Ondskapt. Overall, I would highly recommend The Word Of John Lee Hooker CD.
Hobo Blues (2:48) - awsome. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. First time I heard Hey Baby was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Boom Boom - My least favorite song on this album. The song feels complete. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Wednesday Evening Blues is one of the best records ever. Baby Lee is a perfect song and it grows on you. I loved Tupelo the first time I heard it. Onions is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. I find myself hearing bits of Drug Store Woman here and there throughout my waking hours. Maudie is astounding. I love the melodic melody of Dusty Road and to this day it makes me feel good. No John Lee Hooker song has come close to capturing my attention as Trouble Blues did.
