It has been ten years John Prine’ last studio CD, “Bruised Orange” which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Thom Yorke has compared writing for John Prine’s new album to that on ‘Bruised Orange’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Now signed to John Prine’s Mute Records, the title track from second album “Bruised Orange” leads John Prine’s back-to-school campaign. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
Music and lyrics of There She Goes creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. If You Don’t Want My Love is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. That’s The Way That The World Goes ‘Round - John Prine first major hit. Bruised Orange (Chain Of Sorrow) have really caught my ear and imagination. I like the agression and power of Sabu Visits The Twin Cities Alone. All of songs on Bruised Orange and have something to say letting alone Aw Heck. The song Crooked Piece Of Time ending is my favorite… so catchy! Iron Ore Betty is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Bruised Orange. The Hobo Song is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music.
