This ten-song debut EP shows the promise that John Scofield has. ‘Pick Hits Live’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. There were many famous songs of John Scofield available. To me John Scofield is the best band ever.
When listening to PICK HITS, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. HEAVEN HILL is one of the best records ever. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Vocals of John Scofield in BLUE MATTER really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Although THANKS AGAIN is very melodic it is far from sad. In TRIM it becomes nowhere more obvious that John Scofield has yet to define own style. John Scofield sings his heart out in GEORGIA ON MY MIND. John Scofield offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself.
