It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of John Scofield energies, virtually a rebirth. Time on My Hands isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Lead single “Be Hear Now” and “Fat Lip” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. If I may, I suggest “Be Hear Now”. That one song is amazing!
If you are a John Scofield fan, you will love Fat Lip. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Wabash III because the melody in the chorus is so good. A fantastic track full of wonder. I came to like So Sue Me. Let’s Say We Did is a very catchy tune. Flower Power is worth the money. Stranger To The Light catches attention immediately, I like the idea behind Nocturnal Mission. Farmacology makes a person feel amazing. This track is a great song that still never gets old.
