Since completing 1992’s ‘Warsaw’, Joy Division fulfilled their contract with Sparrow Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This album has some very good songs like Warsaw and Leaders Of Men. There is so much to love about Joy Division, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
This song stands out greatly from the others. Digital is Joy Division’s best work in years. I think Autosuggestion is the best song Joy Division has ever done. Transmission is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Substance 1977-1980. Voice of Joy Division in She’s Lost Control is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Incubation (2:52) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Dead Souls has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Atmosphere motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. I hope to keep hearing Joy Division works for a long time to come. Once you hear No Love Lost, you will listen to it over and over. Failures is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Glass is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. From Safety To Where… (2:27) - awsome. Don’t judge Novelty on the first listening. Komakino gives good insight into the truths. These Days is the funkiest number on the album.
