There is no doubt that Junior Wells and Junior Mance has talent. Since completing 1992’s ‘(I’m Your) Hoochie Coochie Man’, Junior Wells and Junior Mance fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. When you buy a Junior Wells and Junior Mance album, you know exactly what you’re getting! I wish that “Buddy and the Juniors” album was instrumental.
First time I heard Rock Me Mama was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Voice and instruments in Ain’t No Need complement each other. Talkin’ ‘Bout Women Obviously which is my favorite is a truly Junior Wells and Junior Mance sounding song. Listening to Five Long Years you can hear that Junior Wells and Junior Mance has still amazing chemistry with band members. Riffin’ is a bit of a show-tune. Within the first few notes of Buddy’s Blues it’s perfectly clear that Junior Wells and Junior Mance is living this song.
