John Digester has compared writing for Keith Jarrett’s new album to that on ‘J.S.Bach Goldberg Variations’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Lead single “Aria” and “Variatio 1 (a 1 Clav).” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This album has some very good songs like Aria and Variatio 1 (a 1 Clav).. If I may, I suggest “Aria”. That one song is amazing!
You have to get essence of the Variatio 1 (a 1 Clav).’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Variatio 2 (a 1 Clav). - I like this one. Variatio 3 - Canone All’Unison A 1 Clav. is one of the best records ever. I have all of Keith Jarrett’s tracks and Variatio 4 - A 1 Clav. is probably the most his introspective effort. Variatio 5 - A 1 Ovvero 2 Clav. is the album’s biggest hit, I think. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Variatio 6 - Canona Alla Seconda. A 1 Clav.. The first time I listened to Variatio 7 - A 1 Ovvero 2 Clav. Al Tempo Di Giga I was struck by its cool sound. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Variatio 8 - A 2 Clav., which shows, blatantly, how much Keith Jarrett has evolved as a singer. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Variatio 10 - Fughetta. A 1 Clav. - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. I believe Variatio 11 - A 2 Clav. is one of the most amazing, heartfelt songs ever written. Variatio 12 - Canone Alla Quarta. (a 1 Clav.) - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Variatio 13 - A 2 Clav. is really a nice song to relax and listen too. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Keith Jarrett. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Variatio 15 - Canone Alla Qiunta A 1 Clav. Andante. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Simple and heartfelt closing track Variatio 18 - Canone Alla Settima. A 1 Clav. closes J.S.Bach Goldberg Variations on a high note. Variatio 19 - A 1 Clav. one is one of the better boring ones. Variatio 20 - A 2 Clav. stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. In Variatio 21 - Canone Alla Settima. (1 Clav.) Keith Jarrett is at his best. Variatio 22 - A 1 Clav. Alia Breve is another favourite of mine. Variatio 23 - A 2 Clav. motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. Variatio 24 - Canone All’Ottava. A 1 Clav. gets you up and jumping. Variatio 25 - A 2 Clav. Adagio (7:20) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. If you are a Keith Jarrett fan, you will love Variatio 26 - A 2 Clav.. Variatio 27 - Canone Alla Nona. A 2 Clav. is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Variatio 28 - A 2 Clav. is marvelous song though, very addictive. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Variatio 30 - Quodlibat. A 1 Clav. is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Aria as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature.
