Since Killing Joke last CD (Brighter Than A Thousand Suns) on SixSteps records back in 1986, I have felt a massive void in my life. IF YOU LIKE ALL Killing Joke’S SONG GO FOR IT! Killing Joke’s debut, ‘Brighter Than A Thousand Suns’, does not fit easily into one genre. Smart music for smart people.
Killing Joke allows each song to breathe and flourish. Chessboards is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Twilight Of The Mortal good vocals. Love Of The Masses is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think A Southern Sky is my favorite song on Brighter Than A Thousand Suns. Victory is the funkiest number on the album. I find myself hearing bits of Wintergardens here and there throughout my waking hours. Killing Joke must have run out of lyrics on the next track Rubicon. Goodbye To The Village is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Exile is one of these floating songs.
