It’s natural for Killing Joke to take a stab at ‘Turn To Red’ considering her long-professed love for EMF. For older fans Laugh? I Nearly Bought One! will put a massive smile accross your face. three years ago, Killing Joke briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Pssyche”. Smart music for smart people.
I like the idea behind Pssyche. This song stands out greatly from the others. A fantastic track full of wonder. Follow The Leaders is a gorgeous song and it grows on you. All of songs on Laugh? I Nearly Bought One! and have something to say letting alone Unspeakable. Butcher have really caught my ear and imagination. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. I can’t stop humming along The Hum. Empire Song is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Chop-Chop is perfect. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Music of Eighties is gentle, never overbearing. Darkness Before Dawn is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Love Like Blood - I just love it. Wintergardens is beautiful, yet underrated track. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Age Of Greed.
