On 2 Worlds, 1 Heart album, Ladysmith Black Mambazo have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. It has been four years Ladysmith Black Mambazo’ last studio CD, “2 Worlds, 1 Heart” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. For older fans 2 Worlds, 1 Heart will put a massive smile accross your face. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Bala Ubhale (Count and Write) is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on 2 Worlds, 1 Heart is Love Your Neighbor. Leaning On The Everlasting Arm has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Ladysmith Black Mambazo’s strong vocals come to the fore. Rejoice is a astounding, simple song by Ladysmith Black Mambazo at the top of his game. Hayi Ngalesiskhathi is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Emhlabeni (In This World) is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Isikhathi Siyimali (3:35) - awsome. Nami Ngaze Ngamthola can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Ladysmith Black Mambazo is all about. Ngomnyango (By The Door) is pretty funky and mellow. Scatter The Fire is beautiful, yet underrated track. Cothoza Mfana (Tip Toes Guy) as a highlight of 2 Worlds, 1 Heart contains a ton of amazing melodies.
