It has been four years Late!’ last studio CD, “Pocketwatch” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. While no new Late! album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1992 tour in North America. Now signed to Late!’s SixSteps records, the title track from second album “Pocketwatch” leads Late!’s back-to-school campaign. This is my first Late! Album and i must say i am blown away.
Petrol CB has a fun tempo. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Pocketwatch. Late! breathes new life into the music in Throwing Needles. Just Another Story About Skeeter Thompson sets the tone for the entire album. Strong, powerful vocals of Late! in Color Pictures Of A Marigold are very impressive. Hell’s Garden is one of the best records ever. In Winnebago the music gets its power. In Bruce it becomes nowhere more obvious that Late! has yet to define own style. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Milk.
