Lee Scratch Perry The Upsetter and the Beat MP3

Lee Scratch Perry The Upsetter and the Beat imageIt has been sixteen years Lee Scratch Perry’ last studio CD, “The Upsetter and the Beat” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Lee Scratch Perry on ‘Big Apple Coconut’. Since Lee Scratch Perry last CD (The Upsetter and the Beat) on Sparrow Records back in 1992, I have felt a massive void in my life. Great Reggae right here!

Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Coming In from the Cold. In Don’t Blame the Baldhead the music gets its power. Such hits like Happy Birthday Jamaica will leave you hooked. I believe Holla and Bawl is one of the most marvelous, heartfelt songs ever written. Music of Love Power is gentle, never overbearing. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. The sound in Musical Doctor is really warm and Lee Scratch Perry’s signature voice is still very much present. Sex is the albums biggest surprise. This track is clearly meant to showcase Lee Scratch Perry’s vocal abilities. Lee Scratch Perry has astounded me with this amazing track. Welcom Aboard gives taste of what makes Lee Scratch Perry special as a musician.
