Elemental isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. For older fans Elemental will put a massive smile accross your face. Since completing 1985’s ‘Blacksmith’, Loreena McKennitt fulfilled their contract with Columbia Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Loreena McKennitt is one of my favourite bands of all time.
She Moved Through The Fair is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Stolen Child stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. The Lark In The Clear Air is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. This track is clearly meant to showcase Loreena McKennitt’s vocal abilities. When listening to Kellswater, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Banks Of Claudy is the funkiest number on the album. Come By The Hill (3:04) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! I love the melodic melody of Lullaby and to this day it makes me feel good.
