Since completing 1991’s ‘EL GATO FELIX’, Los Tigres del Norte fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. There is no doubt that Los Tigres del Norte has talent. I am not a real Latin music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Corridos Prohibidos’ really is amazing. Another great offering from Los Tigres del Norte.
LOS TRES GALLOS is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Once LA CAMIONETA GRIS gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. EL ZORRO DE OJINAGA is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. I now have R-UNO as one of my personal favorites. EL CORRIDO is really the reason why I recommend buying Corridos Prohibidos. AL FILO DEL RELOJ is one of these floating songs. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is RAMIRO SIERRA because the melody in the chorus is so good. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. ARNULFO GONZALEZ is almost impossible to review. VALENTIN FELIX is a bit different from Los Tigres del Norte stereotypical stuff.
