Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Lou Reed on ‘How Do You Speak To An Angel’. After seeing How Do You Speak To An Angel, I had to have a good Lou Reed cd. thirteen years ago, Lou Reed briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “My Old Man”. Lou Reed is one of my favourite bands of all time.
In My Old Man full palet of sound is used by Lou Reed to accentuate the presentation. Keep Away is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Growing Up In Public is a excellent sing-along. Standing On Ceremony is nothing but pure genius. So Alone I just LOVE this mix! This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. I like the agression and power of Power Of Positive Drinking. Such hits like Smiles will leave you hooked. In Think It Over it becomes nowhere more obvious that Lou Reed has yet to define own style. Still going through Growing Up in Public and coming to appreciate Teach The Gifted Children more and more with every listen.
