This is one of the best Cd’s Loudon Wainwright III has dropped to date. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Loudon Wainwright III on ‘Hard Day On The Planet’. Self-described as Folk with lots of words, Loudon Wainwright III comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. If you love Loudon Wainwright III as much as I do, then Loudon Wainwright III More Love Songs is the CD for you!
This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Your Mother And I is a fine track on any terms. I Eat Out is beautiful, yet underrated track. No hits the heart. The Home Stretch has a fun tempo. The opening track The Acid Song is very much like you would expect from other albums. Loudon Wainwright III has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Man’s World is perfect. Vampire Blues is a very catchy tune. Overseas Call have really caught my ear and imagination. No Loudon Wainwright III song has come close to capturing my attention as Expatriate did. This song stands out greatly from the others.
