It’s natural for Maceration to take a stab at ‘A Serenade of Agony’ considering her long-professed love for Gridlok. This nine-song debut EP shows the promise that Maceration has. After seeing A Serenade of Agony, I had to have a good Maceration cd. A Serenade of Agony is not something you should pass up.
Intro - Silent Lay the Gentle Lamb - a classic song. In Pain and Pleasure Incarnate Maceration spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Reincarnation - Time Flies - To me, this is the best song on the A Serenade of Agony. The Forgotten - This one is lively and fun. It took me a little time but I ended up loving The Mind Rampant. Maceration has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Transmogrified is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done.
