This album has some very good songs like John Wayne Was A Nazi and Born To Die. This is the first studio album from M.D.C. since bad diagnosis in 1988. Self-described as Hardcore with lots of words, M.D.C. comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. This album is awesome.
Born To Die is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. I find myself hearing bits of Selfish Shit here and there throughout my waking hours. Radioactive Chocolate is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. The first time I listened to No Place To Piss I was struck by its gorgeous sound. After about the third Kleptomaniac listen through, I began to believe this song is M.D.C.’s essence. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Pecking Order is worth the money. When listening to Pay To Come Along, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. What sets Evolution In Rock apart is M.D.C.’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. The sound in Spanish Castle Magic is really warm and M.D.C.’s signature voice is still very much present. Charming song, great melody.
