Michael Nyman had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
An Eye For Optical Theory is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in The Essential Michael Nyman Band (Compilation). This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Time Lapse is the more seemingly obscure song on The Essential Michael Nyman Band (Compilation) that bear up best to repeated listening. Fish Beach the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Opening track Wheelbarrow Walk shows the best of Michael Nyman. Knowing The Ropes - This one makes me want to not only sing along. No Michael Nyman song has come close to capturing my attention as Miserere Paraphrase did. Memorial hits the heart. Stroking / Synchronising gives good insight into the truths. Miranda make listening to Michael Nyman like being in some sort of time warp.
