There is so much to love about New Order, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. On Low Life album, New Order have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. New Order’s debut, ‘Low Life’, does not fit easily into one genre. Love Vigilantes and The Perfect Kiss is really good.
The Perfect Kiss presents the perfect mix of instruments on Low Life. This Time Of Night is the albums biggest surprise. Low Life couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Sunrise. Elegia is such a marvelous and optimistic song that things can get just better. Sooner Than You Think as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Sub-Culture. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Low Life.
