Self-described as Ethnic with lots of words, Omar Faruk Tekbilek and Brian Keane comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Omar Faruk Tekbilek and Brian Keane’s debut, ‘Fire Dance’, does not fit easily into one genre. Since Omar Faruk Tekbilek and Brian Keane last CD (Fire Dance) on ForeFront Records back in 1990, I have felt a massive void in my life. IT makes me wanna dance!
Omar Faruk Tekbilek and Brian Keane emotions are reflected through Oglan Boyun. A Call To Prayer is perfect. Desert Twilight is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. A Passage East is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Song Of The Pharaohs (6:00) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Fire Dance. Fire Dance is worth the money. In Ask full palet of sound is used by Omar Faruk Tekbilek and Brian Keane to accentuate the presentation. Village Song is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Fire Dance have ended. Opening track Modern Mystics shows the best of Omar Faruk Tekbilek and Brian Keane. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. I loved Spirit Of The Ancestors the first time I heard it. I find myself hearing bits of Halay here and there throughout my waking hours.
