This disc has all of the essential Paul Mauriat classics. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Paul Mauriat’s album Les Chansons D’amour 1967-1986 falls to No. 2 with 554,000, a sales slide of 65%. On Les Chansons D’amour 1967-1986 album, Paul Mauriat have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Les Chansons D’amour 1967-1986.
Mrs. Robinson is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Still going through Les Chansons D’amour 1967-1986 and coming to appreciate Le Temps Des Fleurs more and more with every listen. Love Story is astounding. Qui Saura is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Melody Fair one of the best in my collection. Yesterday Once More is beautiful, yet underrated track. This song stands out greatly from the others. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. In Dis-Lui Paul Mauriat spins a tale you want to hear to the end. How Deep Is Your Love - A strong beat. As always, Paul Mauriat’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Get Les Chansons D’amour 1967-1986 and turn on Copacabana if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Woman In Love to me is the best you can get from Paul Mauriat. Endless Love is almost impossible to review. Paul Mauriat sings Ebony and Ivory in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. After about the third Flashdance listen through, I began to believe this song is Paul Mauriat’s essence. You can find feelings on this piece of art. I Just Call To Say I Love You - My least favorite song on this album. Best song on the album, love it. Penelope is the funkiest number on the album.
