Since completing 1992’s ‘Adventures In The Andean Trail’, Philippe de Canck fulfilled their contract with Virgin Records and where under no obligation to release another album. thirteen years ago, Philippe de Canck briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “The Girl Of Cuzco”. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Philippe de Canck’s album Mystic Voyage Cd4 The Realm Of The Incas falls to No. 2 with 459,000, a sales slide of 74%. Enjoy the show.
The Girl Of Cuzco - I just love it. Machu Pichu, The City In The S is one of the best records ever. Temple In The Jungle is probably the highlight of the album. The Holy Valley Of Pisac is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Voice of Philippe de Canck in The Cult Of Varacocha is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Tiahuanaco, The Gate Of The Su is beautiful, yet underrated track. Titiccaca, Lake Of The Gods - Philippe de Canck first major hit. When I listen to Cuzco, The Lost City in my car when traffic ain’t going so good.
