Public Enemy had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Lead single “Get The F Outta Dodge” and “Bring Tha Noize (feat. Anthrax)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Self-described as Rap: Hip-Hop with lots of words, Public Enemy comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Exciting stuff.
Public Enemy sings Bring Tha Noize (feat. Anthrax) in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. This track is clearly meant to showcase Public Enemy’s vocal abilities. A great put together song. Shut ‘Em Down I just LOVE this mix! 1 Million Bottlebags is a striking and quite long song. Move! had me crying as I was able to relate so well. By The Time I Get To Arizona is really the reason why I recommend buying Apocalypse 91… The Enemy Strikes Black. As always, Public Enemy’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Voice and instruments in I Don’t Wanna Be Called Yo Nigga complement each other. Can’t Truss It - Public Enemy first major hit. Nighttrain is nothing but pure genius. Rebirth without a doubt is the standout song of Apocalypse 91… The Enemy Strikes Black. Lost At Birth is the albums biggest surprise.
