Ralph Towner allows each song to breathe and flourish. Adrift is one of the more up-tempo songs on Open Letter. Infection have really caught my ear and imagination. Alar stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Put Short ‘n Stout into car stereo for your highway driving I believe Waltz For Debby is one of the most astounding, heartfelt songs ever written. I Fall In Love Too Easily is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Magic Pouch is just simply stunning. Magnolia Island is a bit of a show-tune. Nightfall is marvelous and different song.
